Forbidden contact was the Nazis’ term for forbidden social contact between Germans and foreigners. This included everyday interactions as well as intimate relationships. Relationships between Eastern European men and German women were particularly repressed. If such a relationship was discovered, it often meant the death penalty for the forced labourer.
