Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF)
In May 1933, the Nazis broke up all trade unions in Germany and created a mass organisation for both workers and employers, the German Labour Front. The organisation ran its own camps and housing, which were later used to house forced labourers during the Second World War. The DAF also issued circulars laying down rules for cultural and sporting events, although these were not always put into practice.
